Piece inspired by the neo-futuristic and sculptural architectural work of the Spanish architect Santiago Calatrava. His designs are characterized by curved shapes, lines
undulating, organic shapes inspired by nature, which allows to translate
and capture these forms in works with an elegant aesthetic, structurally
slender and sober allowing the entry of natural light, provoking the sensation
that his works appear to be floating or moving.
The ring structure, with four arms welded to the central ring, creates a bridge effect that supports the Alexandrite stones, generating a feeling of lightness and floating. The stud emerging from the Alexandrite stones serves as a structure for the central stone, a perforated tiger's eye that seems to float in the air.
The choice of stones is significant: the yellow citrine, mounted along the bridge arms, represents the strength and incidence of sunlight, present in Calatrava's works. The tiger's eye, known as the "stone of freedom", symbolises the autonomy of organic forms in architecture. The alexandrite, called the "chameleon of stones", represents the ability of shapes and materials used in architecture to adapt.
Works such as L'Hemisfèric in the City of Arts and Sciences in Valencia, the Tenerife Auditorium, Oculus in New York and the UAE Pavilion serve as references for the design of this ring. The piece captures the essence of Calatrava's architecture, characterised by innovation, creativity and the fusion of organic and geometric forms.
More than jewelry, it is art.
