Designed and crafted by our master jeweler Brian Nava, this piece is participating in the 86th National Silversmithing Competition within the framework of the 2023 National Silver Fair in the jewelry category.
The “Rebirth of Acapulco” ring is a moving and symbolic creation, crafted in silver, that pays tribute to the port of Acapulco after the devastation caused by Hurricane Otis. The piece is designed with deep significance, representing the transformation and rebirth of the city.
The ring is made with organic shapes, which represent the bay of Acapulco, its beautiful beaches, the sand shaped by the waves of the sea, the movement, energy, power and beauty of Mother Nature. The first part of the ring has a radial groove evoking the chaos and destruction of the bay hit by the passage of the meteor. In the central part of the ring is mounted an aquamarine stone, which although the color of the stone alludes to the serenity and natural beauty of the sea, it also reminds us of the power of the raging ocean. The second fully polished part, in contrast to the first, represents the catharsis and rebirth after the destruction, symbolizing the resilience and strength of the Acapulco people.
The "Reborn of Acapulco" ring is a symbol of hope and renewal. A unique piece that honors the memory of Acapulco and its people... With much love in honor of Acapulco.
More than jewelry, it is art.
